Generate ESEF output

After the mandatory and optional ESEF options have been set in Tangelo, the document menu now contains an ESEF option:

In the following dialog you can start the conversion, and after that is completed three buttons are available:

Error report

This will show an analysis of your filing. Things that can cause errors are for example:

  • Properties not (properly) set – for example period not specified in the column header, or container not set properly
  • (Sub)totals that do not match with the individual items
  • Anomalies detected by the validation – for example a negative value for a concept that is very likely to be positive

Preview

Using the preview you can view the result, and click on the values to inspect tagging. This is meant as a quick preview, and not for auditing of the filing. That should always be done on the real ESEF result file. To see if all labels have been applied successfully, choose Highlight in the viewer. Cells will be green if they contain standard labels and pink if they are tagged with customer specific extension.

ESEF result

This downloads a ZIP file with the report, additional metadata and your specific taxonomy. This together is what should be submitted to the authorities. It is important not to rename the file, since the filename should follow the mandatory naming scheme {abbreviation}-{date}.zip.

Tangelo does not support an option to export a file containing all the tagging for easy viewing. This has to be done by importing the ESEF ZIP file into external tooling. The ZIP file contains all information. Tangelo does not output any other file then the ZIP file.

If an auditor or accountant requests so, they can request free access to the Parseport Inspector if they don’t have their own tooling at hand.
