In Tangelo you can add, edit or remove tables. In this how to we will describe the basic table functions within Tangelo.
Creating a table in Tangelo
Tables can be created via the top menu by choosing the Insert tab and choosing Tables.
Choose your desired size and Tangelo will create a table. The first row will be automatically be a header row. You can set the different standard table settings by clicking inside the table and then in the top menu, under tab Table.
Adding or removing rows / colums
To add a row or column just click the + icon.
To remove a row or column, click the row header or column header, it will become blue and an icon will appear. This will remove the row or column.
Setting column widths
Table columns can be set to a specific width. This can be done via the top menu under tab Table and using the Column widths button.
The first column A, will normally be on auto. Since Tangelo knows that in this column most of the text is used and other columns will probably contain numbers. When using connected tables, Tangelo automatically tries to set the column widths based on the input from the Excel file.
Table properties
The most common properties are found in the top menu under tab Tables. Quick access properties are found via the right mouse button, by clicking inside a cell or in the table.
In the breadcrumb path you also have settings, it also shows you where in the table you currently are located.
Other properties are located in the properties pane on the right of the screen. For every customer we have different attributes, these will located in the properties pane only.
You can set the width of a table, select the table style or add special attributes based on your configuration.
Adding titles or subtitles
To add a title to a table, just click in the breadcrumb path on table. In the submenu you can now add a title, subtitle or a caption. This can also be done by right clicking on the table.
With the same menu you can move the table up or down the text.
Tables larger than one page
Default behaviour for tables in a Tangelo document is to NOT split/break up at the bottom of a page but rather keep them together on the next page. For regular tables this is the preferred way but for large tables longer than one page this behaviour needs to be disable using the 'Keep together' setting at the table level, see below.
Table display
Smaller tables are displayed in Tangelo with their content, however bigger tables will be displayed collapsed, to speed up loading times in Tangelo.
Open them by simply clicking on the gray box. Tangelo will display a summary of the table in the gray box, but by clicking on it, will display the whole table.
