Introduction
Use this article to turn a table into a chart in Tangelo and customize how it looks. Creating a chart is straightforward and lets you visualize your data with options tailored to your needs. The article also includes video walkthroughs for creating a chart and for adding a chart synchronized with Excel.
Summary
After following this article, you can create a chart from a table, switch the chart type, set its width and properties, and connect a chart to an Excel data source.
Preconditions
Start with a table
A chart is created from a table, so set up a table with the data you want to visualize first. The table can be created manually or synchronized with a data source. For preparing a manual table, see How do you add a manual table?
Create a chart
Click the table, then go to the top menu, choose Insert, and click Chart.
When the table contains data, Tangelo automatically tries to turn it into a chart. Click the switch in front of the chart to display the source. If the table is not connected to a data source, you can change the source table here.
Set chart properties
Make all chart settings in the properties pane, including the chart type. To switch type, for example to a pie chart, select it here.
And set the chart size in the properties pane under width. Width controls how the chart fits the page. And the height is set as a percentage of that width. Choose the setting that matches how you want the chart to display.

Video: add a chart synchronized with Excel
You can also connect a chart to an Excel data source so it updates automatically. This is especially useful for complex or frequently changing datasets, as it keeps your charts synchronized with the latest Excel data. The walkthrough below shows how to connect table data to a chart, customize its properties, and maintain synchronization with the data source.
