Use the Files tab in Tangelo to securely store and exchange unpublished supporting files during the reporting process. This functionality is intended for collaboration and temporary file sharing within the reporting workflow.
Files uploaded through the Files tab are not automatically included in document outputs and are not used as document content, page inserts, or images in generated reports.
Designed pages, covers, attachments, and background visuals that should appear in generated outputs must be managed through the Images library and inserted using the supported Page Insert functionality.
Summary
The Files tab is intended for secure file exchange and storage only. Files uploaded here are not included in PDF, web, or iXBRL outputs.
Overview
Files Tab Usage
The Files tab can be used for:
- Secure exchange of unpublished files
- Sharing supporting documents during report preparation
- Temporary storage of working files
- Collaboration between users during the reporting process
What the Files Tab Is Not Used For
Files stored in the Files tab are not:
- Included in generated reports
- Used as images or page inserts
- Published to PDF outputs
- Published to iXBRL outputs
- Used as cover pages or attachments in the supported workflow
Recommended Workflow for Designed Pages
For designed pages such as:
- Cover pages
- Back covers
- Chapter dividers
- Accountants’ statements
- Attachments
- Full-page backgrounds
Use the following workflow:
- Upload the file to the Images library.
- Insert the page using the supported Page Insert functionality.
Important
Some older Tangelo implementations may still contain deprecated functionality where PDF files from the Files tab are inserted directly into documents.
This workflow is deprecated and should no longer be used.
PDF files inserted through deprecated functionality:
- Are not supported in modern Tangelo workflows
- Are not included in iXBRL outputs
- May cause missing pages or missing attachments in generated iXBRL reports
As a result, important content such as:
- Accountants’ statements
- Signed attachments
- Cover pages
- Additional appendices
may not appear in the iXBRL report even though they are visible in the PDF output.
Remarks
- Always use the supported Page Insert workflow for pages that must appear in generated outputs.
- Existing legacy documents may still contain deprecated PDF insertions through the Files tab.
- If you are unsure whether a document uses deprecated functionality, contact your Tangelo consultant.
- Migrating legacy PDF insertions to the supported Page Insert workflow is recommended for iXBRL compliance and long-term compatibility.
