Introduction

Use this article when you want to assign work to another user within a document. Tasks can be created for an entire document or for a specific section, allowing you to request writing, review, or approval activities.

Summary

After following these steps, a task is assigned to one or more users. The assigned users receive an email notification with a direct link to the task and the related document or section.

Steps

  1. Open the document.
  2. Optionally select the section for which you want to create a task.
  3. Open the Tasks tab in the right sidebar.
  4. Click the + button.
  5. Select the task type:
    • Write for content creation.
    • Review for content review.
    • Approve for final approval.
  6. Enter a due date.
  7. Enter a description with any instructions or remarks for the assignee.
  8. Optionally enable Reopen when status is reset if the task should automatically reopen when the status of the document or section is reset.
  9. Search for and select one or more users.
  10. Click the red + button to create the task.

Expected Result

The task is created and assigned to the selected users. The assignees receive an email notification and can navigate directly to the task, document, or section using the link provided in the email.

Remarks

  • Tasks can only be assigned to individual users; user groups cannot be selected as task assignees.
