Introduction
Use this article when you want to assign privileges to several users at once instead of one user at a time. In Tangelo you can group users (for example Management and Financial) and grant privileges to the whole group, which is useful for documents that combine different report types and would otherwise need rights set per individual user.
Summary
After following this article, you can create and remove user groups, add or remove users from a group, and assign privileges at group level.
Preconditions
Administrator access required
You need an administrator profile to open the User management screen. If you don't see this option, contact your administrator or key user.
Create a user group
Open User management from the menu in the top right corner.
On the right side of the screen, next to the blue Add button, click the Group button.
The user group screen opens, where you can create, delete, and manage groups.
Enter a new group name in the open field at the bottom, then click the plus sign on the right to confirm.
Expected result
The group is created and appears in the user group list.
Remove a user group
To remove a group, click the minus button next to the group.
Add or remove existing users in a group
In the User group screen, click the Back button on the right to return to User management.
Select the user you want to edit, then click Group memberships.
- Enter the group name to add the user to that group. Repeat for each user you want to add.
- To remove a user from a group, delete the group name from the Group memberships field.
Add a new user directly to a group
When you create a new user, you can assign them to one or more groups straight away. Enter the group name(s) in the Group memberships field in the Create user dialog.
Assign privileges to a user group
User groups can be granted privileges in the same way as individual users, using the privilege screens throughout the application.
