Introduction

Use this article when you want to upload a new file to an existing data source. Uploading a file imports and processes the data so it becomes available for use in linked documents.

Summary

After following these steps, the file is uploaded and processed in the selected data source. The new data becomes available for document updates.

Steps

  1. Navigate to Data Sources tab.
  2. Select the data source you want to update from the dropdown.
  3. Review the currently uploaded file and timestamp, if available.
  4. Select a file from your device.
  5. Click the red Play button to start the upload.
  6. Wait for the progress bar to turn green.

Expected Result

The file is uploaded and processed successfully. The data source now contains the latest available data. The related documents are not yet updated. That has to be done separately within the document.

Remarks

  • Uploading a file does not automatically update linked tables in documents.
  • After the upload is complete, open the relevant document and update the linked tables to apply the new data.
  • For more information about updating linked tables, see the related article: Synchronise new data from a data source
