Introduction
Use this article when you want text to wrap around an element, such as a table or image. By default, elements in Tangelo are placed inline with the text, causing the surrounding text to appear above and below the element rather than alongside it.
Summary
After following these steps, the selected element is positioned on the page, allowing surrounding text to wrap around it.
Steps
- Select the table, image, or other element you want to reposition.
- Open the Properties panel.
- Locate the Position on page property.
- Click Add if the property has not yet been set.
Select the desired position.
Available positions include, for example:
- Top left
- Top right
- Center left
- Center right
- Bottom left
- Bottom right
- Save the changes.
The selected element is now positioned at the chosen location on the page, allowing surrounding text to flow around it.
Expected Result
The element is no longer positioned inline with the text. Instead, it floats on the page and the surrounding text wraps around it according to the selected position.
Remarks
- By default, tables, images, and other elements are positioned inline with the text.
- Setting the Position on page property changes the element to an absolute position, allowing text to wrap around it.
- Choose a position that provides sufficient space for both the element and the surrounding text to maintain a clear page layout.
- Always review the generated PDF after changing element positioning to ensure the layout appears as intended.
